Anti-Mormon Bores Me

I had planned to interview an Anti-Mormon tweeter to find out what his LDS life was like, why he left, and why he finds near-hourly tweeting Anti-Mormon propaganda more fulfilling than leaving the Church behind and finding a source of joy. I don’t think I need to.
It turns out it’s easy to have compassion for someone that self-righteous, angry and apparently hurt without digging in. The lesson for me, after a day of tweeting back and forth, is that all of his yakking and self-justification teaches me nothing in and of itself. It showed me a cartoon caricature without all three dimensions, which is sad, but it did something else, most beautiful and unexpected: it strengthened my faith.
Who knew?!?
Once I get some sleep I’ll write about it. It’s happy, glowy stuff, completely bereft of anger or defensiveness. It shows me that, when I’m open, I can find Heavenly Father anywhere, everywhere. Grinning like a fool on two hours’ sleep and texting people I love to tell them so was my afternoon. Then I slept. All along I prayed in thanks. What an astonishing day!!!
Yes, non-LDS, this will make sense for you too. It’s about logic, faith, culture and civility, after all. That’s the point of the blog!! Stay tuned.
